the story you almost edited out?

that’s the one we build from.

II help founders, agencies, and creative teams find the narrative that's been hiding in plain sight and build the language and systems to move with it.

Here's what I know after 15 years.

The brands and bodies of work that actually land?

They're not the most polished ones.

They're the most honest ones.

The strange thread. The tension. The part that felt too specific, too personal, too unconventional to keep.

Those aren't liabilities. They're the story.

I'm Shaunté. Creative director. Brand strategist. Collage artist. And for fifteen years, I've been the person you call when the story isn't working.

I spent nearly a decade at NPR, where I helped bring the Tiny Desk Concert Contest to life. I've worked in boardrooms and art studios, writers' rooms and retreat spaces. I've sat with founders who had everything figured out except their story, and creatives who had the story but couldn't find the thread.

This is the work I was made for.

where I work

Fractional Creative Direction For agencies and companies that need a seasoned creative lead without the full-time overhead. I embed, I align, I ship.

Brand Narrative Strategy For founders and organizations whose story feels stuck, scattered, or like it belongs to a version of them they've outgrown.

Workshops & Retreats For teams and creatives who are done playing small. We go in. We find the thing. We build from it.

Don’t take it from me…

Shaunté is one of the strongest strategists I know. She turns original ideas into unforgettably vivid, results-driven campaigns.

Smart, organized, and wildly creative — Shaunté is a rare mix of strategic thinker and creative leader. She makes things happen and makes it fun along the way.
— Peter Barden, VP of Communications

I write sToRyDrOpS — a weekly newsletter and lighthouse for creatives drifting in the in-between. Helping you live your biggest, sparkliest, choke-on-my-stardust life through tarot, creativity and art.

I'm also finishing The Tarot of Forgotten Stories™ — a surrealist tarot deck about navigating liminal spaces and connecting with the stories in our stardust and marrow. Each card is a portal. A map for when you're no longer who you were, but not yet who you're becoming.

Good creative work isn't just beautiful. It's clear and cohesive. It moves people.

I've spent fifteen years building the kind of work that does all three — inside newsrooms, boardrooms, art studios, and retreat spaces. With creative teams who needed a leader, founders who needed a thread, and organizations who needed someone who could hold the vision and ship the work.

If that's what you're looking for, let's build something worth keeping.
